The media effects debate has been happening for a while now, some people believe things such as music, films and video games are the main purpose of crimes like school shootings and other violent acts involving young people, where others believe these things have no effect and people must already have problems mentally before which is not influenced by the media. Hypodermic syringe implies the media has a negative and a great example of a media product which is often blamed for violence in young people is the video game  ‘Grand Theft Auto 5’ the game was released in 2013 and made 800 million dollars in the first day of its release.
